A HEALTHY FAT FOR A HEALTHY YOU

BREAD UPMA
8 slices of old bread or bun (any variety will work),
1 tablespoon ghee
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
½ teaspoons of urad dal
¼ cup peanuts
10 to 12 curry leaves
A big pinch of hing
1 green chilli slit
1 clove garlic, finely chopped or grated
½ inch piece of ginger, grated
¼ teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
1 small onion, diced (or half a large onion)
1 tomato, diced
3 tablespoons yogurt
In a nonstick pan, add ghee.
Add mustard seed, and when it crackles, add in urad dal, peanut, curry leaves, hing, and slit green chillies, garlic, and ginger. Saute it until everything is fragrant, about a minute.
Add in the onion and let it sweat till it is translucent.
Add the tomato and sauté till it is thick.
