BREAD PUDDING WITH KHOA

Ingredients

4–5-day-old croissants

11/2 cups of whole milk

½ cup of heavy whipping cream

½ cup of condensed milk 

½ cup of grated khoya

3 - 4 cardamom pods, crushed with the green shell removed.

2 sticks of cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons almond slices

2 tablespoons chopped pistachio

Handful of raisins for garnish

Crushed dried rose petals for garnish

METHOD TO PREPARE

Preheat the oven to 375 F

Tear up the croissants and add them to a deep, oven-safe dish. 

Bake for 8–10 minutes till the croissant are crispy around the the edges

In a pan, add the whole milk, condensed milk, whipping cream, crushed cardamon pods, cinnamon, vanilla essence and cinnamon sticks Allow it to simmer for a couple of minutes. Keep stirring to make sure the mixture does not burn. Remove from heat and remove the whole cinnamon.

Pour the milk mixture over the croissants. Top with almonds and pistachios, and bake for 15 minutes. 

Once baked, top with raisins and rose petals. Serve hot or cold.
