SPICY GOCHUJANG PANEER

Ingredients

1 block Paneer, cut in 8 slices

2-3 tablespoons corn starch
Salt and pepper

1-2 teaspoons of neutral oil

1 teaspoon oil

5 cloves garlic minced

1 inch piece ginger mined

4–5 scallion whites, finely chopped

2 tablespoons Gochujan Paste

¼ cup soy sauce

½ teaspoon gochugaru (korean red pepper flakes), use regular chilli flakes

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons of sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

½ cup water

Scallion greens for garnish

METHOD TO PREPARE

In a shallow dish, add corn starch, salt, and pepper and mix.

Add the paneer and coat it in the corn starch mixture.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add oil; when hot, add the paneer in a single layer and let it cook for 2–3 minutes till it is golden. Flip and cook on the other side till golden, another 2 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat and return the pan to the stove. Add a teaspoon of oil. When hot, add in the aromatics: scallion whites, garlic, and ginger. Sautee for 2 minutes until everything is fragrant.

Add in the gochujang paste, soy sauce, gochugaru, sugra, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, and water. Stir and let the sauce thicken.

Add the Paneer and garnish with scallion greens
